Jeremy Renner’s $13 Million L.A. Home Is a Modern Zen Sanctuary

Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner recently listed his sleek Los Angeles home in the Nicholas Canyon area for $13 million. The Avengers: Endgame star purchased the residence in 2012 for $4 million, according to The Wall Street Journal, and spent the next several years—plus $5.5 million—renovating and expanding the property to its current 9,000-square-foot size.

Originally built in 1960 with a midcentury-modern design, the six-bedroom dwelling is nestled within the city’s plush Hollywood Hills neighborhood, though it’s situated on a quiet street with just a few houses. The Zen-style sanctuary is secluded behind private gates and is ensconced by lush landscaping and towering trees. Both the interiors and landscaping exude a sense of warmth, calmness, and serenity. Renner, who was involved in a near-fatal snow plow accident in January of 2023, spent the remainder of his year at the estate recuperating.

Fusing contemporary elegance with moody and rich interiors, the retreat is an indoor-outdoor oasis with several water features, a large pool with a stone bridge, covered patios, waterfalls, and manicured hedges. He more than doubled the size of the house during his renovation and added a detached recording studio and outdoor amenities. Inside, the heart of the home is the open-concept living room with a sloping wood-beamed ceiling, polished brown floors, clerestory windows, a wall of mirrors, fireplace, and statement-making light fixtures. The living area connects to the garden through floor-to-ceiling Fleetwood glass doors. Nearby, there is a formal dining room and a light-filled kitchen with more clerestory windows to offset the dark colors with natural light. The gourmet kitchen has an elegant La Cornue range, ample counter space, a walk-in pantry, dual kitchen islands, and a breakfast nook.

Despite being only one story, the house’s bedrooms are smartly tucked away from the gathering and entertaining areas. The primary suite boasts vaulted wood-beamed ceilings and opens to a balcony through floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. The balcony runs the length of the entire primary wing, which includes a spa-like bath, two closets, and a generous seating area. Thanks to the slope of the parcel, the balcony overlooks treetop views. The additional bedrooms have picture-perfect views of the grounds, closet space, and en suite bathrooms. Among the other highlights are an indoor-outdoor bar that wouldn’t look out of place in a speakeasy, screening room, and an attached garage. Outside, an al fresco dining area offers plenty of lounge space.

Inside the $21 Million Carmel-by-the-Sea Home That Clint Eastwood Lived in While Mayor

“I split my time between a house in Lake Tahoe and my home in Los Angeles,” Renner posted to his Tumblr account a few years ago. “In both, I spent money on things I wouldn’t have done in a spec home. I installed a massive solar-panel package that’s one of the biggest in L.A. You’d never do that on a house you’re going to sell, because it takes four or five years to get your money back on the investment. I wouldn’t have built a giant lagoon with a dive bridge and waterfall sculpted by the guys who do it for the San Diego Zoo. That’s a little too radical for some buyers, but I’m building a house I’m going to live in for the rest of my years. It’s about my taste and my desires.”

While the Mayor of Kingstown star once planned to live in the home for the rest of his life, he recently told WSJ that he is selling in an effort to move on and downsize.

Jeremy Renner’s L.A. home is listed for $13 million by Branden and Rayni Williams of The Beverly Hills Estates. See more photos below.
