Los Angeles interior designer Jake Arnold crafts sumptuous interiors that offer a tranquil blend of sophistication and livable luxury. It’s an aesthetic he channeled into his debut monograph, Redefining Comfort (Rizzoli), and his online boutique The Expert, a curated marketplace offering everything from unique home decor finds and access to some of the biggest names in the business. Through his distinct lens, architectural details pop against a creamy neutral background or become works of art rendered in expressive stones or woods the color of Tennessee whiskey. Rooms beckon with an alluring assortment of plush, tactile furnishings and dreamy accents.

Of course someone with a talent for selecting the ideal shade of rich velvet, the perfect balance of vintage and contemporary, and a dreamy mix of plump furnishings and tailored pieces is also adept at selecting just the right thing for a Valentine’s Day gift. Here, a look at the treasured finds and memorable experiences he’s discovered to celebrate the upcoming holiday.
