How to Help Victims of the Los Angeles Wildfires

Members of the art world and beyond are coming together to bring relief and resources to the thousands impacted by the devastating blaze

As a somber picture emerges of the complete devastation caused by the historic Pacific Palisades wildfires and other nearby blazes, numerous organizations are stepping forward to bring relief to the thousands of victims who have been impacted. The deadly fires, which have killed at least 10, also damaged or destroyed more than 9,000 structures, including art galleries, studios, and countless private collections.

In addition to monetary donations to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the American Red Cross, below are ways members of the art world and beyond are helping support relief efforts:

-Item Donation Drop Off at Una Malan Showroom: Items requested include water, masks, blankets, non-perishable food items, basic hygiene items, baby and children’s clothes, mens clothes, socks, pet blanketes, dry pet food, pet beds, small crates.

-LA Art World Fire Relief GoFundMe EffortsArtists Katheryn Andrews and Andrea Bowers along with gallery directors Olivia Gauthier and Ariel Pittman, and arts professional Julia V. Hendrickson have started a fundraiser that will be distributed to artists and art professionals who have lost their homes or studios.

-Mutual Aid LA: Accepting monetary donations as well as maintaining a database for victims to list supplies needed.

-Thomas Cooper Studio to Donate Profits from Murano Bulb SalesFunds will be distributed to several relief efforts.

-Entertainment Industry Foundation: Collecting donations for first responders and firefighters.

-Theo Coulombe to Donate Portion of Exhibition Sales: Proceeds will go in part to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the American Red Cross.

-Pasadena Humane: Collecting and providing pet supplies to animal owners in need.

-Designer Adam Hunter Accepting Donations of Furniture, Homeware: The Pacific Palisades-based creative is accepting donations from fellow designers and others for victims whose homes were lost or damaged.

-LA WorksMobilizing volunteer relief efforts.

Who Is She Wearing: Through its emergency fire fund, the company is shipping clothing, emergency items, non-perishable food and medical supplies through it’s Utah office. Email hello@whoisshewearing.com for more information.

Other Places Art FairCollecting funds for emergency micro grants for artists impacted by the wildfires.

-Fire Relief Free Store at The Hole Los Angeles GalleryThe Los Angeles location is collecting and offering clothing, toiletries, dog food, luggage, water, snacks, blankets, toys, and more for those impacted by the fires.
