Hotel of the Week: The St. Regis Aruba Expertly Blends Island Charm and Luxurious Living

Situated just steps from gorgeous white-sand beaches, this newcomer offers the perfect balance between upscale accommodations and local flair

For some, Aruba is family-friendly destination perfect for parents to kick back and relax and kids to play. For others, it is the go-to spot to let loose and enjoy the vibrant Aruban culture while sipping on fruity cocktails. For those who stay at the  St. Regis Aruba Resort, it’s the vacation oasis that has it all.

Opened just a few months ago in January, luxurious hotel brand St. Regis Resorts, in association with Marriott International, unveiled its latest property on Noord, Aruba’s Palm Beach Coast. Located on what’s described as the “best address” of the Caribbean country, just literal steps away from the sandy white beach, the new St. Regis Aruba stands tall as a contemporary hotel destination which brings luxurious living to island culture.

Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), the 252-room hotel boasts a collection of curated art and design details alongside the finest amenities available. Upon entering the property, an installation of greenery and lanterns ushers guests into the spacious reception and grand main entrance where a selection of furnishings and dining awaits. Boasting four different dining experiences, all with their own exceptional views of both the property and Aruba itself, the ground floor holds the St. Regis Bar and offers light bites. Outside, the expansive patio hosts the hotel’s famed sabrage ceremony in the evening.

At the bar, guests can expect a thoughtfully crafted menu of speciality cocktails featuring local Aruban ingredients as well an inventive take on the classic St. Regis Bloody Mary. Dedicated to celebrating the deep culture and history of Aruba, the “Bon Bini” Mary is the property’s own special spin, where the island’s local Papiamento vodka and smoky papaya sauce blend with the cocktail’s classic ingredients. While being served the cocktail may be a special enough experience, guests can also have the opportunity to learn how to make it themselves. Everyday at the bar in the afternoon, a special Bloody Mary masterclass takes place to allow guests to fully learn about the history of famed hotel cocktail as well as more about local ingredients to help make each sip special.

Of course, like any St. Regis property, the rooms are just as luxurious as the shared spaces. Featuring a total of 252 guest rooms, 52 of which are suites, each room comes outfitted with luxurious linens, spacious bathrooms, and dreamy amenities to meet any guest’s needs. When it comes to The St. Regis, the room is almost a vacation in itself. However, where true relaxation can be found is the stunning St. Regis Spa, where guests can enjoy steam and sauna rooms, facial or massage treatments, or simply sipping a glass of champagne in the expansive relaxation area.

Once stepping outside the spa, designated family and adult-only swimming pools equipped with lounge chairs, loveseats, and personal cabanas await. Just a few steps away, the ocean awaits. For those who are feeling lucky, the property also boasts it’s own personal casino onsite.

Next to the pool and beach, breakfast and dinner restaurant Eskama as well as poolside restaurant Nuba offer a selection of classic vacation staples including smash burgers, fish sandwiches, tacos, as well as more elevated fare inspired by the Carribean culture such as red snapper. However, it’s the rooftop restaurant (the only one in Aruba, worth noting) that truly steals the show.

Featuring sweeping views of the Palm Beach coastline, Akira Back marks an extravagant dining experience which brings seafood-inspired fare right to the ocean. Featuring starters including fresh ceviche and an ornate cucumber salad as well as a selection of sushi rolls and sumptuous entrees, there’s not a bad view in sight at this exciting new arrival.
