Gwyneth Paltrow’s Red Carpet Looks and Personal Items Are Headed to Auction
A 2010 Versace gown worn by the Hollywood star and a Lindsey Adelman chandelier are among the collection highlights
Julien’s Auctions has announced a two-day event featuring the sale of Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow’s personal items. Among treasured highlights are a 2010 Versace gown that Paltrow wore on the red carpet, her 2015 Academy Award event Ralph & Russo gown, and a pair of Jean Royère-style polar bear chairs.
A portion of the sale, which marks the first “Bold Luxury” auction at Julien’s Auctions and kicks off March 24, will be donated to World Central Kitchen. “I believe in the quiet beauty of objects that have lived a life before us—in the meaning that gathers over time, and in the way a story can continue when something passes into new hands,” says the Goop founder. “With this spirit of nostalgia and renewal, I’ve curated a selection of pieces from my own life, hoping they’ll carry their history forward and take on new meaning for those who receive them.”
Additional highlights include a 2005 35 CM Birkin Clemence handbag estimated to sell for up to $25,000, a Louis Vuitton Malle Courrier Trunk that originally belonged to Gloria Swanson, estimated to fetch up to $8,000, and a Lindsey Adelman bubble chandelier, which is expected to fetch up to $10,000. “‘Bold Luxury’ is an invitation to own the cultural markers that bridge high fashion and high-end living,” says Martin Nolan, Julien’s Co-Founder and Executive Director. “Gwyneth Paltrow defines modern luxury through a lens of elegant and curated design. From the red carpet to the living room, her aesthetic is pure influence. By merging couture with interiors, Julien’s is meeting the demand for lifestyle-led collecting where every piece tells a story.”
Online bidding for “Bold Luxury: Gwyneth Paltrow Lexicon of Style & The Archival Edit” is now open, with the sales taking place on March 24 and March 25.
