Giampiero Tagliaferri Orchestrates a Seductive Living Room Around a Powerful Vanessa Beecroft Sculpture
The eyewear designer-turned interiors virtuoso finds inspiration in a commanding ceramic artwork
In the nearly three years since the launch of his interior design practice, Giampiero Tagliaferri has made a blockbuster name for himself with his unique combination of Italian sophistication and Los Angeles cool. Here, he imagines an entertaining area around a work by Vanessa Beecroft, a friend and fellow Italian turned Angeleno.
“There’s a sensuality that comes across in the room,” he says of the space, which is anchored by a sofa he designed for a new collection with Minotti. Perfect for enjoying an apertivo, the living room sparks a dialogue between contemporary and vintage, echoing the aesthetic tension between the sculpture’s polished and Brutalist characteristics.
"Art is not a little touch we add at the end. It's part of the design space."
Giampiero Tagliaferri
