Eittem for The Frick Collection Fuses Timeless Motifs and Tactile Materials into Wearable Works of Art
Limited edition, sculptural creations are inspired by the museum’s history, but work for today’s modern wearer
Fashion meets fine art this month with the collaboration between luxury accessories maker Eittem and The Frick Collection. Known for meticulously crafted, limited-edition pieces that function as clutches as well as objets d’art, this latest collection is inspired by the museum’s exquisitely restored second-floor rooms, including the Walnut Room, which served as Henry Clay Frick’s bedroom. Taking cues from the original floral and botanical woodcarvings by Abraham Miller that are found throughout the ornate space, Eittem has conceived a sculpture as well as several wearable works of art that reference the building’s rich history and are designed for everyday use.
“For our atelier, this collaboration is especially meaningful,” says Erin Saluti, Founder and Creative Director of Eittem, whose love for The Frick Collection spans decades. “To create work in response to the Walnut Room, and in respectful dialogue with Abraham Miller’s extraordinary carvings, places Eittem within a context I care deeply about: the intersection of art, design, history, and exceptional craft. It reflects our shared belief that objects and materials carry meaning across time.”
Among the special creations are several extremely limited-edition salvaged Eastern Black Walnut and stainless-steel sculptures with sterling silver accents that reference botanical motifs. Flourish, After Miller features a solid base that mimics a serene pond, from which exquisite stems hold faux bois blooms. Sculptural brooches pay homage to Abraham Miller’s mantle carvings, with flower buds, peapods, fronds, and Lily of the Valley all lovingly rendered in walnut and silver to suggest subtle, sleek movement.
Launched in 2024, Eittem has gained a cult following for its signature Owl, Moon, and Bird clutches—here created exclusively for The Frick Collection in inaugural and petite sizes and lined with the museum’s signature red alpine leather. Each sculptural purse features an inlaid stainless-steel monogram and a detachable 20-inch sterling silver chain with a rhodium finish, as well as a numbered inscription that is recorded in the Eittem archive.
For luxury accessories with historical flair, Eittem for The Frick Collection offers rare works of art for today’s connoisseur. Available at The Frick Collection from October 1.
