12 Dreamy New Hotels to Discover in 2022

Destroyed by a flood in 2020, &Beyond’s Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge will open its doors to travelers in June. Located in Tanzania’s Western Corridor, this luxury resort will bring adventurers close to the wildlife on the Serengeti, then offer upscale areas for relaxation, including nine serene suites with river views and private plunge pools.

Situated 7,500 feet up in the air, the Ritz-Carlton, Jiuzhaigou offers sweeping views of the Min Mountains, rainforest, and scenic valley that’s home to myriad waterfalls, endangered species, and other breathtaking flora and fauna. The brand’s first all-villa resort offers guests the opportunity to be immersed in the local culture or explore the UNESCO World Heritage Jiuzhaigou National Park just minutes away.

World-renowned architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and Handel Architects conceived this futuristic hotel property in San Francisco, opening in early 2022. Named the Line, the flatiron-shaped structure houses 236 rooms and 242 residences as well as four dining spaces and Magic Theater, a local non-profit theater company.

Opening this summer in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood, Hotel Barriere Le Fouquet’s New York features 97 residential-style Art Deco suites, crafted by celebrated designer Martin Brudnizki, multiple dining destinationsu2014including Brasserie Fouquet’s helmed by Michelin-star Chef Pierre Gagnaireu2014and the rejuvenating Spa Diane Barriu00e8re. The hotel brand’s first U.S. location, this vibrant getaway artfully melds the joie de vivre of Paris with the cosmopolitan cool of Downtown.

One of the grandest villas on Lake Como, the Grand Hotel Tremezzo is getting a sister location this summer when the De Santis hotelier family debuts a stunning private home turned 24-key resort in Passalacqua. Constructed in the 18th-century, this historic estate is perched directly on the lakeshore, and it allows cultural connoisseurs to experience the picturesque music room where Vincenzo Bellini composed his 1831 opera, La Sonnambula.

London’s former Old War Office on Whitehall is being transformed into the city’s first Raffles hotel. Once occupied by spies and statesmen from Ian Fleming to Winston Churchill, the landmark building will open in late 2022 as a 120-key destination with 85 branded residences and 11 restaurants and bars, including a rooftop space offering panoramic views of Buckingham Palace.

Slated for a spring opening, the Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad will offer some of the most spectacular views of the city. Featuring 250 guest rooms and 16 branded luxury penthouse residences, the swanky destination will be an epicurean’s paradise with dining options crafted by Michelin-starred chef Josu00e9 Andru00e9s, including a rooftop bar 500 feet above the heart of Manhattan.

Transforming the Chicago skyline, the St. Regis Tower will be the cityu2019s third largest skyscraper when it opens this August. Inside, the Studio Gangu2013designed structure inspired by the look of a faceted jewel, the five-star St. Regis Chicago will offer 191 luxurious guest suites, numerous hospitality spaces, spa, and unparalleled views of the Windy City and Lake Michigan.

Set in an Edwardian manse on Grosvenor Square in London’s posh Mayfair district, the 31-key Twenty Two will include an all-day public restaurant and private member’s club. Slated to open in April, the 42,500-square-foot property marks designer Natalia Miyaru2019s first hospitality project.

Explore Madrid from this 18th-century villa once home to the Duke of Santo Mauro. Situated in the heart of Chamberu00ed, Santo Mauro, a Luxury Collection Hotel, includes 49 artfully appointed guest rooms and 10 suites, a verdant garden terrace, and decadent dining options helmed by Chef Rafael Peu00f1a who will also steer the menus at La Biblioteca and El Jardin.

Housed in a 30-story tower by Foster + Partners with interiors by Parisian firm Gilles & Boissier, The Lana marks the Dorchester Collection’s first location in the Middle East, hugging the shore of the Marasi Marina in the Burj Khalifa District of Dubai. Each of the 225 guest rooms include floor-to-ceiling windows for stunning views, however the most remarkable vista is from the rooftop pool which transforms into an exciting lounge after sundown.
