Promemoria, the family-owned furniture atelier on the shores of Lake Como, brings the aura of Italy to its bold expressions of design. An institution among the world’s finest bespoke furniture makers, Promemoria was born from a vision of unique and authentic art and artistry in the home.
At the atelier, craftsmen ply leather, wood, metal, and glass into dense, impeccable pieces imbued in transcendent colors—an amethyst-purple velvet-upholstered chair, for example, or an alabaster terracotta boiserie-cabinet lacquered in coral. Every detail is executed with technical mastery and verve, and the result is furniture that continually surprises while being designed to span generations.
“We always try to create with excitement and to move away from habit,” says Romeo Sozzi, the house’s founder. “Like in love, this is the secret to keeping design alive and meaningful.”
