Promemoria, the family-owned furniture atelier on the shores of Lake Como, brings the aura of Italy to its bold expressions of design. An institution among the world’s finest bespoke furniture makers, Promemoria was born from a vision of unique and authentic art and artistry in the home.

At the atelier, craftsmen ply leather, wood, metal, and glass into dense, impeccable pieces imbued in transcendent colors—an amethyst-purple velvet-upholstered chair, for example, or an alabaster terracotta boiserie-cabinet lacquered in coral. Every detail is executed with technical mastery and verve, and the result is furniture that continually surprises while being designed to span generations.

“We always try to create with excitement and to move away from habit,” says Romeo Sozzi, the house’s founder. “Like in love, this is the secret to keeping design alive and meaningful.”

Playing with solids and voids, the Bilou Bilou chair is enveloped in elastic velvet, a material specially developed to embrace its soft forms like a glove, perfectly smooth and seamless. This chair is an icon among Promemoria products: designed by founder Romeo Sozzi in 1999, it is continuously updated and engineered for more comfort, and offered in newer heartwarming colorways, including cherry red, amethyst purple, butter yellow, and sage green.

Available in both standard and large versions, Bilou Bilou adapts effortlessly to a variety of interiors.

George is a wardrobe cabinet inspired by Hollywood’s great movies. The structure in Tuscan cypress is covered in velvet or linen, while details like the base, hinges, lock, and handles are in bronze. The majesty of George is enriched by refined architectural hints: large fabric-covered moldings and a temple-like top.

Born from the imagination of Promemoria’s founder Romeo Sozzi, Ginette is a breezy armchair with a playful spirit. Its solid oak armrests, sculpted into flowing curves, gently embrace a soft seat. With its light and contemporary appearance, Ginette lends itself to grace a living room, an entryway, or an intimate conversation corner.

Nightwood is a modular bookcase designed by Davide Sozzi, part of Promemoria’s “Night Tales” collection—a tribute to the subtle beauty of twilight atmospheres. Sleek and refined, Nightwood brings an understated elegance to modern living spaces. Its structure is crafted in mahogany with bronze spacers, featuring niches in fabric or leather framed with bronze profiles. The design is enhanced by an integrated LED lighting system, which highlights both the materials and the books and objects it holds.

Rebis is a table that brings together wood and layered industrial glass through contrasting processes inspired by alchemical principles. Its wooden base is shaped mechanically, then refined by hand to achieve a silky finish unique to each piece. The top is composed of overlapping colored glass sheets with embedded pigments, cut and staggered to form subtle terraces. Like the alchemical “double” from which it takes its name, Rebis embodies the harmonious union of opposites—natural and artificial, and industrial and handcrafted.

A sophisticated table that seamlessly blends different materials, Tornasole is a charming dining table completed by a Lazy Susan revolving plate, inviting conviviality and fun. The pieces come in three sizes, where the medium and large versions featurewooden top and leg in various essences, with a central decoration, base, and profile made in bronze. The smaller version uses Carrara marble, Breccia Medicea, or white or gold onyx, all set upon a bronze base with a matching profile.
