It’s the most wonderful time of the year, as the song goes, when brightly colored decorations and holiday music are evident every which way you turn. To get guests in the Christmas spirit, haute hotels around the globe have teamed up with creative collaborators, including luxury fashion houses, design studios, and top-tier artists, to offer beautiful—and often times bold—displays, installing towering Christmas trees decked in candy color ornaments, glowing strings of shining lights, and fantastical garlands of seasonal blooms.

Discover 10 Incredible Christmas Tree Displays Across the World

One of Charleston, South Carolina’s most well-known holiday hotspots, The Dewberry has teamed up with storied design house Schumacher to craft this regal Christmas tree. Rendered in customary holiday colors, the decorations inspired a seasonal new cocktail, best enjoyed by the twinkling lights.

On view in London through Christmas Day is this mesmerizing installation by artist David Hockney that’s constructed in collaboration with Apple. Titled Bigger Christmas Trees, the monumental artwork is displayed on the facade of the city’s Battersea Power Station.

For the historic Riggs Washington D.C., luxury cashmere brand Lingua Franca conceptualized this design-forward Christmas tree which boasts hand-stitched custom ornaments in an unexpected palette of buttery yellow, citrus orange, cool lavender, peacock green, and sapphire blue.n 

Inside of Swarovski’s new flagship store in New York City, a soaring double-height Christmas tree stands as the centerpiece of the destination’s sweeping raspberry pink staircase.

At Palm Beach’s shopping mecca, the Royal Poinciana Plaza, fashion designer Thom Browne created an unexpected tree using bespoke surfboards in preppy red-, white-, and blue stripes. Of course sitting pretty at the top is an angelic gold dachshund, Browne’s favorite puppy muse.

Displayed alongside the regal stair at Claridge’s in London is a whimsical holiday installation made in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. Here, 15 of the maison’s iconic trunks have been repurposed and stacked into an abstract interpretation of that classic Christmas symbol.

Luxury Netherlands hotel Pulitzer Amsterdam has partnered with esteemed fashion brand Roksanda to create a dazzling conifer inspired by the work of textile artist Hanne Friis.

Standing tall within the lecture room and library of famed Mayfair restaurant sketch London is a Surrealist tree adorned with crystals, conceived by tastemaker Tony Marklew.

Every year, The Connaught taps a major artist to decorate its famed Christmas tree. For 2024, artist Rachel Whiteread conceived the display, dressing the towering 31-foot fir with over 100 circular neon white hoops.

Architecture firm Charlap Hyman & Herrero debuted Christmas trees inspired by the Victorian era inside both The New York Edition and The Times Square Edition hotels in Manhattan. The firm’s creatives selected meticulously hand-painted ornaments of notable celebrities and city landmarks, giving viewers an opportunity for a playful game of discovery.
