The former Beverly Hills estate of Cary Grant is on the market for $77.5 million. Situated on 2.63 acres, the luxe property features a 15,700-square-foot dwelling with six bedrooms and 13 baths. Grant purchased the estate for $46,000 in 1946, and it went through a substantial renovation following his death in 1986. The original structure was demolished and replaced.

Today, the estate is owned by Grant’s widow, Barbara Grant Jaynes, and her husband, real estate investor David Jaynes. When Grant met Barbara, who was his fifth wife, in the 1970s, the famed actor was renovating the original home on the property. She went on to inherit the estate after his death. In 2001, Barbara married David Jaynes, and they started to rebuild the property into an expansive modern mansion. Now, the couple is looking to downsize.

Features of the abode include a 52-foot pool, tennis courts, a wine room, a gym, an at-home movie theater, and a glam room. Aaron Kirman of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California and Denise Moreno and Gordon MacGeachy of Hilton Hilton have the listing.

The modern mansion, which is located at 9966 Beverly Grove Drive, also boasts towering ceilings and glass walls, with 180-degree southern views from the Pacific Ocean to the Los Angeles skyline. According to the listing, the estate has undergone “six years of precision planning and expert craftsmanship.” It was completed in 2022.

Frank Sinatra and Gregory Peck were just some of the stars who Grant and Jaynes entertained at the original dwelling, which had low ceilings and obstructed views. Because of the construction of the new home, these two components no longer exist. “We didn’t want anything to clash with the beauty of the view,” Jaynes told The Wall Street Journal.
