A Beverly Hills Estate with Ties to Gloria Vanderbilt Is on the Market for $16.5 Million
The sprawling 1920s-style home once entertained the biggest of Hollywood names—including Elvis, Howard Hughes, Warren Beatty, and more—and was last listed 72 years ago
For the first time in 72 years, a Beverly Hills estate once leased by Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt—mother to Gloria Laura Vanderbilt—is on the market, for $16.5 million.
The six-bedroom, five-bath property measures 6,138 square feet and was most recently owned by actress Noreen Nash, who lived in the home until her death at age 99 in 2023. Nash and her husband, Dr. Lee Siegel, purchased the home after the Vanderbilts.
“719 North Maple Drive is one of the largest lots on the best block on one of the most coveted streets in the flats,” said listing agent—and star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles—Josh Flagg of Compass.

This historic abode can host up to 400 guests and can accommodate up to 14 cars. The nearly 30,000 square-foot lot boasts a sizable pool, a guest house, a covered patio, and mature landscaping. Furthermore, the traditional 1920s-style estate is set back from the street, adding to its grandeur. Standout features include a grand living room, an awe-inspiring library, and a substantial primary suite.
Vanderbilt leased this property during the summer of 1941, and her daughter—also named Gloria—stayed here during that time. The home was frequented by Hollywood big names like Elvis Presley, Warren Beatty, Ali McGraw, Bob Evans, and Henry Miller; the latter even got married on the property.

Built in 1927, this single-family home is mentioned in the younger Gloria Vanderbilt’s 1985 autobiography, Once Upon a Time: A True Story, as this is where the then-17-year-old heiress met Howard Hughes, who was 19 years her senior.
“He called my mother saying he wanted to come and talk to her. And she thought he was interested in her,” wrote Vanderbilt. “As he was arriving, I was going out the door, and we met briefly.” Hughes later “asked my mother permission for me to take a screen test, and later we went out on a date.”
