Benjamin Moore Reveals Color of the Year 2025
Cinnamon Slate 2113-40 is a delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown
Benjamin Moore announced Cinnamon Slate 2113-40 as its Color of the Year 2025 on Wednesday, with the selection representing an adaptable, yet distinct hue that brings a soothing familiarity and balance to every design.
“As the use of more saturated color in design has increased in recent years, we are seeing a growing interest in more nuanced colors, whose undertones add intricacy and dimension,” says Andrea Mango, director, color marketing and design at Benjamin Moore. “Cinnamon Slate is an inviting hue that offers enduring style and modern sensibility. Its depth and richness bring an air of approachability and sense of comfort throughout the home, making it a new favorite for years to come.”
Described as a delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown, Cinnamon Slate serves as the inspiration for the Benjamin Moore Color Trends 2025 palette which draws inspiration from nature. Included in the mix is misty Sea Salt CSP-95; deep Leather Saddle Brown 2100-20; earthy Chowning’s Tan CW-195; spritely Tissue Pink 1163; rich jewel tone Stained Glass CSP-685; the saturated forest hue Ashwood Moss 1484; the more nuanced green Rosepine 461; a taupe-like neutral Paris Rain 1501; and creamy Glacier White OC-37.
The palette reflects visually compelling shades that transition gracefully from room to room, according to the paint conglomerate, and mark a stark contrast from last year’s selection. For 2024, Benjamin Moore chose the deep denim-like Blue Nova 825 as the Color of the Year, with an accompanying palette focused on pigments experienced through travels and moments that stretch beyond the day-to-day.
Each year, Benjamin Moore curates a Color Trends palette from a library of over 3,500 colors. The final selections take into consideration global and domestic consumer behavior and global influences in art and design.
