As art and design appreciators and aficionados begin their steady descent into Miami for the city’s anticipated art and design fairs, buzzy new restaurants have never been more booked. To keep these trendy visitors and locals fueled for a busy week ahead, Galerie has rounded up some of the most striking new restaurants to open in the bustling colorful city.
1. Mother Wolf
Located in the always-trendy Design District, one of the most anticipated restaurant openings Miami, Mother Wolf, spotlights the immense talents of chef Evan Funke. Featuring interiors courtesy of Galerie Creative Mind Martin Brudnizki, who brought in thoughtful and elegant design details to the restaurant’s neutral color palette such as Murano glass lighting, Italian terrazzo flooring, and intricate damask wall details, which complement’s the building’s classic Miami art deco architecture.
A true testament to Roman cuisine, the menu features true Italian delights such as handmade pasta, pizzas made in the restaurant’s own pizza oven, grilled diver scallops, and a handful of other entrees including seabass, fried lamb chops, and a sumptuous ribeye. To complement the meal, Mother Wolf’s wine program offers over 400 different varieties, guaranteed to satiate any taste palette.
2. Habibi
A step inside a Wes Anderson-style world, French Moroccan supper club Habibi is a bold and colorful addition to Miami’s waterfront. Designed by Mark Lehmkuhl of Ghost House Group and Love Lake Studio, the interiors nod to Morocco’s rich culture, with a dominating color palette of reds and pinks decorating the walls and furnishings while an array of drapery and textiles create an intimate riad-like dining experience amongst the striking chandeliers and velvet banquettes.
The menu is helmed by Executive Chef Wladimir Arévalo, who conceived dishes bursting with a variety of global flavors. To start the evening, shared plates including classic dips, breads, and shish-barak de wagyu dumplings complement main dishes such as grilled tiger prawns served with salmon-infused couscous with lemon zest and Moroccan spiced grilled lamb lollipops with roasted carrot purée, all together creating an inventive take on authentic Middle Eastern dining.
3. Sparrow Italia
Located in the trendy neighborhood of Wynwood, classic Italian steakhouse Sparrow Italia has found another location across the pond from its first opening in London. Featuring architecture overseen by Kobi Karp Architecture, guests are greeted with suspended wood arches enveloping the sunken dining area, which boasts interiors courtesy of design studio ICRAVE. To help diners rest and relax during their meal, luxurious blue-hued velvet booths fill the space and pop against the striking grand chandeliers.
Similar to the interiors, a straightforward menu which blends Mediterranean and Italian cuisine has been conceived by executive chef Martin Heierlin. In addition to upscale dishes such as wagyu carpaccio served with pickled mushrooms, parmigiano, pine nuts, umami aioli, shaved black truffles as well as bone marrow cappelletti which consists of braised beef cheeks, roasted bone marrow, horseradish, and Barolo reduction, pizza by the slice is also available exclusively at the restaurant’s pizza bar, where inventive takes on the beloved classic as the perfect option for those just feeling peckish.

On the walls, an array of Japanese artwork and a custom mosaic mural bring a truly artistic experience to the meal.
The menu, spearheaded by Executive Chef Vijayudu Veena and Executive Sous-Chef Ivàn Monzón, boasts classic Japanese dishes including the highest quality fish for sushi, sashimi, as well as fresh hamachi. For a heartier meal, dishes including lamb chops, chicken negima skewers, and mushroom hotpot melds different flavors into one delicious dining experience.
5. Elastika
Located inside the Miami Design District’s historic building, The Moore, new restaurant Elastika brings a striking dining experience underneath the Zaha Hadid-designed installation the restaurant was named for. Boasting interiors courtesy of a collaboration between WoodHouse and hospitality design firm, ICRAVE, velvet sage green banquettes in the main dining area pop against the wooden tables and patterned flooring. An impressive display of artworks curated by Miami-based art advisor Monica Kalpakian adorn the space, which includes Rob Pruitt’s 2013 work US as the focal point
Serving classic American fare, the restaurant’s menu conceptualized by executive chef Joe Anthony consists of thoughtfully sourced ingredients found from some of the finest local farmers. Diners can expect to find a range of creative dishes including grass-fed bison tartare served with escabeche aioli, umami crumble and house-made country loaf as well as eggplant and sheep’s Milk Ravioli Serviettes with spring fricassee, local mushrooms and pine nut froth.

Wynwood’s bar Otto & Pepe is a multipurpose destination dedicated to all that Italian. A 28-person pasta bar serves as as the center of the minimalistic space, where diners at the bar can witness their dishes being made from scratch. For those who prefer dining al fresco, the expansive backyard boasts plush seating alongside a large-scale mural to spotlight the rich artistic culture of the neighborhood. In addition to the dining areas, a unique wine shop offers guests the option of taking their favorite bottles of the night home with them and taste the Italian charm in the comfort of their own abodes.
