1. Frevo Serves Electrifying Art Alongside Daring 10-Course Menu

With a Michelin star and a recent renovation by Rockwell Group, the restaurant Frevo continues to innovate in both the worlds of art and cuisine this fall. Located in the heart of Greenwich Village in New York, this unique gastronomic chef’s tasting experience appears to be an art gallery to anyone passing down West 8th Street. However, it’s not just a façade, the art shows are carefully curated by director of operations Bernardo Silva. For this fall’s new show, he turns to his Portuguese roots with an exhibition by Lisbon-based artist Pedro Campiche known as Akacorleone. Titled “Duality of Perception,” the show conveys the contrast between light and darkness with interactive LED works. Once guests step through the small white-box space and then the concealed door, diners at the 16-seat counter will be immersed in another kind of art—that of Brazilian chef Franco Sampogna. The 10-course, seasonal menu promises to be just as electrifying as the art—with dishes such as fluke with heart of palm and apple as well as a lamb prepared with Ras al Hanout spice blend and chanterelles. –Jacqueline Terrebonne

2. The Macallan Celebrates Past and Future with Special Release Marking 200th Anniversary

To mark a magnificent 200-year milestone, The Macallan is celebrating the past while embracing the future with a special release. With only 200 bottles available, the TIME: SPACE vessel holds both a 1940 vintage whisky, bottled at 84 years old, and the first release from the new The Macallan Distillery, distilled in 2018 and bottled at five years old. The vessel features a dual chamber—with the 1940 vintage on the outer chamber and the 2018 vintage in the central chamber. The design is meant to capture the essence of time travel, while the shape of the bottle is symbolic of the circle of life.

“As a Whisky Mastery Team, our roles are unique in the sense that we get to time travel—selecting whisky from the past crafted by our predecessors, while simultaneously laying down casks for future generations of whisky makers and consumers,” says Kirsteen Campbell, The Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker. “To nose, taste, and select whisky created over eight decades ago is an exceptionally rare occasion in the life of a whisky maker and one which I will treasure.” The bottle is displayed in an oak sculpture, which is designed to accentuate the color of natural whisky, as well as pay homage to the Scotch whisky maker’s commitment to sherry seasoned oak casks. Additionally, the TIME: SPACE Mastery is a one-of-a-kind release featuring 14 cask types, including American oak sherry-seasoned casks and European oak sherry-seasoned casks. —Alexandria Sillo

3. Giorgio Armani and Kith Host a Pop-Up Experience in a New York City Townhouse to Inaugurate Their Collaboration

A longstanding icon of tailored, minimalist fashion, furnishings, and decorative objects, Giorgio Armani recently debuted an inspiring assortment with likeminded collaborator Kith, the progressive lifestyle label launched in 2011 by Ronnie Fieg that includes thoughtfully curated offerings for men, women, and home. “Even from our earliest conversations, I knew I wanted this collection to revolve around suiting,” says Fieg. “As I began ideating on the story to tell, I knew I wanted to pay homage and respect to Mr. Armani’s career and life by representing the men who I feel he has inspired the most.” Dubbed Archtype, the clothing is specifically designed to appeal to an imagined Artist, Entertainer, Traveler, and Entrepreneur with palettes, materials, and accessories thoughtful conceived for each character. Adding to the introduction, Kith and Armani commissioned four individual campaigns, kicking off with a celebration of the Artist, starring Martin Scorsese, as well as a pop-up townhouse on New York’s Upper East Side with rooms decorated to appeal to each personality. On September 12, the collection will be unveiled at Giorgio Armani’s Sloane Street store in London with another pop-up happening in Italy on September 18 for Milan Fashion Week. —Jill Sieracki

4. Artist Melissa Rios Presents Solo Exhibition in Manhattan

Tucked away in a sixth floor apartment in Lower Manhattan, a suite of new paintings by Melissa Rios will be on display for the artist’s second solo show, “in the margins of what you call reality”, with JO-HS NY. Born in Costa Rica and now based in Mexico City, Rios created five new Surrealist works during her residency at the Mack Art Foundation this summer, channeling elements of magical realism and human identity through her use of rich oils on canvas. In addition to a number of paintings featuring a female form as the main focus, the artist uses photographs, graphics, and found images to create otherworldly compositions. The exhibition opens September 11. —Shelby Black

6. Louis Vuitton Launches Sneakers Designed by Chinese Artists

No stranger to exciting artistic collaborations, Louis Vuitton has now unveiled its latest art project, the “White Canvas: LV Trainer in Residence.” Chinese artists Zhou Yilun and Wen Na were tapped to reinterpret the iconic all-white, leather LV Trainer. Using the shoes as a blank canvas, the artists took very different creative approaches. Zhou Yilun, for example, sought to use flowing pigments across the shoe, presenting the footwear in a vibrant, unfinished state, as though found on his studio floor. Each pair is meticulously handcrafted and hand-painted in the Maison’s Italian footwear atelier, Fiesso d’Artico. Wen Na, meanwhile, reimagines the LV Trainer through a wave and cloud motif using mural painting techniques. The collection will be launched on September 23 at select Louis Vuitton stores across China, followed by a release at Louis Vuitton’s Paris Galeries Lafayette store on December 1. —Lucy Rees
