The Artful Life: 5 Things Galerie Editors Love This Week
From Joel Mesler’s “Pool Party” at Rockefeller Center to Erdem’s dreamy presentation at Chatsworth House
1. The Renovation of Cotswolds Retreat Sparks a Romantic Collection of Home Goods from Bertioli
The untamed gardens of the English countryside lure a multitude of visitors to the Cotswolds, where picturesque boutique hotels welcome travelers into private residence-like environs. One of the area’s most romantic retreats, Thyme, takes the experience of a visit into a well-appointed family home to luxurious levels, transforming a collection of 17th-century historic structures into glorious suites and gathering areas where guests can partake in unique experiences including cooking, painting, and flower arranging classes on site, or rejuvenating wellness treatments at the recently reimagined Meadow Spa. Accommodations are all botanically inspired, including the four newly renovated rooms that are decorated and named in honor of Elderberry, Sidalcea, and other species. Uniquely, these garden-themed designs inform the latest offerings from Bertioli, a nature-infused array housewares and fragrances, curated by Caryn Hibbert and her daughter Milly, who also oversee Thyme. Bertioli’s new Cutting Garden collection translates the exuberant blooms found in Thyme’s gardens onto wallpaper, textiles, and tableware, which bring a taste of the wild outdoors into perfectly composed interiors. —Jill Sieracki
