Situated on a hilltop in the forested Aravalli Range just outside Jaipur, Naila Fort, an Oberoi Luxury Residence, doesn’t shy away from the scale and drama of its history as a protective stronghold. Instead, the four-bedroom private retreat celebrates its courtyards, architectural details, salons, and terraces. Archways are especially pronounced, framing either the surrounding landscape or one of the boldly decorated interior rooms. The roof of one of the open-air towers can be extravagantly outfitted for alfresco dining, with views of the countryside stretching for miles.

Regional craftsmanship prevails with colorful Rajasthani fabrics, marble floors in sharp geometric patterns as well as whimsical floral motifs, and ceilings festooned with thikri, a shimmering mosaic of small plaster-set mirrors that create a pattern—all making for a beguiling juxtaposition with the site’s defensive origins.
