The former Beverly Hills estate of late Hollywood icon Diane Keaton has hit the market with an asking price of $25 million. Keaton, who purchased the home from Madonna, orchestrated a major renovation at the property before she sold it for $10 million to director Ryan Murphy. He later sold it for $16.25 million.

“Diane had an impeccable eye and a fearless sense of style,” Rayni Williams, of The Beverly Hills Estates, which has the listing, tells Galerie. “She turned the foyer into a seated library that greets you with her love of books so you feel her heart and soul right away. She even met the front-yard visibility rule with a sculptural cacti installation. The home feels like one of the truest expressions of her style, with many of her signature details still present.”

The six-bedroom, nine-bath dwelling was once featured on the cover of Architectural Digest and spans 8,434 square feet. The Spanish Colonial-style abode was originally designed by Ralph Flewelling, FAIA. It has since been updated in a way that preserves its historic elements while modernizing other components. Features include wrought-iron accents, hardwood and terracotta flooring, towering truss ceilings, and enchanting archways.

Additionally, the Beverly Hills home has an idyllic central courtyard complete with a fountain and sitting areas, as well as a grand entry hall that doubles as a library, with groin-vault ceilings. Other rooms include a den/media room, an office, formal living and dining rooms, and a kitchen with an adjoining great room. While the main level boasts two guest bedrooms, there are four more upstairs, one being a grand owner’s suite with dual baths, a fireplace, and balconies that overlook the courtyard and the rest of the grounds.
