Inside an Ultra-Modern $25 Million Villa in One of Portugal’s Most Prestigious Golf Communities
Known as Villatura, this 14,500-square-foot modern home is located within Quinta do Lago, a private resort and course in the southern region of Algarve
Algarve—located in Portugal’s sun-soaked southern coastal region—is considered one of Europe’s top golf destinations, renowned for its world-class courses, temperate year-round weather, and luxury hotels.
Since the 1970s, the area has attracted many top tier golfers including Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, and while it boasts many affluent golf communities, Quinta do Lago—located in the area’s “Golden Triangle,” is one of the most sought-after spots. The area’s luxury resort, Hotel Quinta do Lago (part of Leading Hotels of the World) and championship golf courses, which were designed by notable architects and players including American golf architect William Mitchell, Irish golfer Paul McGinley, and Portuguese golf architect Jorge Santana de Silva, make it a can’t-miss destination.

Most impressive, however, is Quinta do Lago’s one-of-a-kind real estate offerings. One of Portugal’s most expensive residences can be found in this community. The standout home, known as Villatura, recently hit the market for $25.6 million and is listed by John D. Wood and Co. Built in 2023, Villatura was thoughtfully designed by architect Jutta Hoehn of JSH Algarve Architecture with interiors by Dmarq. The home spans more than 14,500 square feet and has seven bedrooms and ten baths spread over four spacious levels.
A set of automatic front doors opens to a grand, double-height foyer with immediate views of the pool and backyard. The main level houses the shared living spaces. This includes the open-plan kitchen equipped with Miele appliances, double ovens, a wine fridge, a Liebherr fridge and freezer, and a butler’s pantry furnished with a Delonghi coffee maker. There are two islands, including one with seating. The open-plan kitchen seamlessly flows into the dining area with seating for up to ten. The kitchen/dining room and the living room are lined with floor-to-ceiling glass doors overlooking the backyard. At the touch of a button, the doors open to the pool, outdoor dining area, and barbecue station. The main level is rounded out by a formal living room and media room.

The primary suite encompasses the entire second floor. With floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, this stunning bedroom redefines indoor-outdoor living, and there are sliding glass doors that open to a private terrace overlooking the golf course, lake, and Atlantic Ocean. The en suite bath is equally as chic with a freestanding tub, rainforest shower, and private terrace access.
Although the property is situated in a luxury golf community, you might never feel inclined to leave, courtesy of the extensive on-site amenities. The lower level features a wine cave, a kitchenette, and a separate seating area. Wellness enthusiasts will appreciate the indoor heated pool, private spa, sauna, Turkish hammam, massage area, and personal gym. There’s also a movie theater with a ceiling that mimics a starry sky. If that isn’t enough, a 20-person hot tub awaits on the roof terrace.

Finally, the home includes a three-car garage with a car turntable for car aficionados to showcase their prized sports cars. Outside, there’s an infinity pool, landscaped gardens, and tranquil water features. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated, including the high-tech smart-home system that controls lighting, underfloor heating, cooling, and surround sound. You can even opt for turnkey ownership, which features the home’s luxe furnishings.
Being a part of the Quinta do Lago community means residents are privy to exceptional amenities, including the one-Michelin-starred restaurant Gusto by Heinz Beck and the Michelin Guide–recognized restaurant Casa Velha. There’s also a state-of-the-art fitness center, tennis and padel courts, and a cycling studio. On the lake, residents can try kayaking, paddle boarding, or boating, among other activities.
