Creative Mind: Garcé & Dimofski
A multidisciplinary studio that includes bespoke furniture, interior design, and a gallery, Garcé & Dimofski is defined by exceptional, timeless craftsmanship and a daring spirit of collaboration
Exceptional, timeless craftsmanship and a daring spirit of collaboration exemplify the distinctive practice of French design duo Olivier Garcé and Clio Dimofski. In 2021, after years spent honing their skills under industry leaders such as Shigeru Ban and Pierre Yovanovitch, they launched Garcé & Dimofski, a multidisciplinary studio that includes bespoke furniture, interior design, and a gallery.
Last year, the couple opened their new home and showroom in a 19th-century Pombaline-style building in Lisbon, Portugal. “It’s a reflection of what we like—classic, contemporary, craft, vintage,” says Garcé. “It’s been the most interesting way to define who we are and our aesthetic.”
Local flavor: “Our goal is to celebrate and promote Portuguese craftsmanship—to push its boundaries,” says Garcé, who collaborates with local makers to transform simple, rustic materials into sophisticated pieces with special details and finishes. “It can be challenging, but when it works, it creates something incredibly unique and filled with character.”
