Young Huh Designs a Chic Party Room Around a Randy Polumbo Work
Channeling a 1970s vibe, the groovy lounge is layered with rich patterns and sculptural furnishings
As a designer, Young Huh may be as equally adept at conceiving traditional spaces as she is streamlined, modern ones—but something that runs through all her projects, no matter how dazzling, is a unique ability to make people feel totally relaxed and at ease. Here, channeling a 1970s vibe, Huh looks to a panel work by Randy Polumbo that reimagines mycelium as an almost topographical landscape to conjure a party room for someone who loves “to entertain, play music, and have a good time. I picked furniture items that look kind of rock and roll and free-spirited but are artworks in their own right.”
