This year introduces two new collections, Mosaic and Duchessa, that pay homage to his signature style and utilize the finest of materials. “Both of these collections well represent the Roberto Coin attitude to continuously create collections different and innovative,” Roberto Coin tells Galerie. “These two words are the fundaments and goals of the brand. The Mosaic collection features geometric lines that are repeated with precision and symmetry in the technique of mosaic—a mixture of strong lines and soft fluidity. “Mosaics exploded during the Byzantine Empire, and the only Basilica of San Marco has over 8,000 square meters of mosaic,” says Coin. “I was looking for a collection full of color expressing my joyful attitude to jewelry and creativity. The Mosaic collection is modern in the look and in the way women can wear it, mixing the pieces and matching fashion trends; with turquoise, malachite and other precious stones that decorate the jewels. I would say that the entire Mosaic collection is a décor, something symbolic that goes beyond a simple piece of jewelry.”

Duchessa, meanwhile, showcases traditional craftsmanship, mixing gold with diamonds in an elegant and refined way. “Duchesses are considered as noble women and have always represented elegance,” says Coin. Highlights of the new collection include an 18k-gold satin oval and diamond accent link necklace and bangle plus a pair of fabulous door-knocker earrings. “They are known to link people and create bridges among important personalities. This comes across in the jewels, in the way of beautifully crafted, handmade modern chains. The chain trend is super contemporary but the rings of the chains are carved by hand to create a kind of noble vintage style. Everything is then enhanced by the light of diamonds.”
