Jennifer Lopez Lists Extravagant Bel-Air Estate for $42.5 Million
The Los Angeles property has been reimagined as a rustic-chic French Country escape and comes with its own private lake and beach
Hollywood superstar Jennifer Lopez has placed her sprawling Los Angeles compound on the market for $42.5 million. The Bronx-born entertainer, who tied the knot to Oscar-winning actor (and former fiancé) Ben Affleck last summer, originally acquired the gated estate from actress Sela Ward in 2016 for around $28 million. Lopez has become quite the real estate baroness since vaulting to fame, with various reports placing the value of her property portfolio at nearly $100 million.
Anchoring her eight-acre Bel-Air spread is a 12,800-square-foot manor that was crafted in the 1940s by American architect Samuel Marx. The nine-bedroom dwelling has since been revamped as a charming French Country escape, with elements such as beamed ceilings, stone-faced walls, and hundred-year-old floor planks giving the place a rustic-chic feel. The main level includes a double-height living room, chef’s kitchen with cathedral ceilings, a wood-paneled library, and numerous fireplaces, while the lower level is equipped with a 30-seat screening room (currently decorated with movie posters featuring Affleck).
Upstairs, the lavish primary wing comes with multiple dressing rooms, a massive walk-in closet, a library, a fireplace, and a spa-like bathroom overlooking the lush grounds, which are planted with native, drought-resistant species. Among outdoor amenities are a 100-seat amphitheater, guest cottage, pagoda with fire pit, and an infinity-edge pool, plus a private lake with its own sandy beach. As for the newlyweds—who have five children between them—it appears they are ready for a fresh start, with recent reports suggesting they’re in escrow for a $34.5 million Pacific Palisades retreat.
The home is listed with Brett Lawyer of Carolwood Estates. See more photos below.
